Clark is oddly excited about being allowed to both cover and participate in this landmark event, hoping he can maintain a journalist's sense of fair play through it.

He's there early, at the site where the protest will take place, talking to the people doing set-up and trying to get a decent sense of how everything is laid out. He even takes a few pictures with the digital camera brought along, and spares a thought for the recently slain photog who should have been there with him. Rest in peace, Jimmy.

Trying to get a sit-down interview with one of the people that run the Westchester Institute has been fraught with difficulty, not in the least because he's a reporter and not to be trusted. It's something that frustrates Clark no end, because he does understand there are two sides, sometimes even three, to a story. That's why being fair and presenting all of the evidence is so important. That's his job.

( At least today he has a chance to help those deemed 'mutants' to be seen as people instead of monsters. )
